17/4/2015 0 Comments Peach march against XenophobiaA Peace March against Xenophobia began at Curries Fountain on Thursday 16 April 2015. The Peace March was organised by Ethekwini Municipality Community and Emergency Cluster in light of the recent devastating xenophobic acts in Durban.
The March was attended by more than 8000 people in support of stopping xenophobic attacks and the intention to reintegrate foreign nationals into society. Guest speakers of the day included KZN Community Safety MEC Willies Mchunu along with many religious leaders. Also showing their support in the crowd were local musicians from Gangs of Ballet. The crowd marched to the Durban City Hall where they were addressed by KZN Premier Senzo Mchunu and Mayor of Ethekwini Municipality, James Nxumalo.
